Remote Diagnostic Imaging

Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is a rapidly growing bedside diagnostic tool that primarily benefits under-resourced remote and rural areas.

However, a structured training and mentorship program must be in place for general practitioners to build POCUS expertise. With the experts (trainers) usually in large academic centres, time and geographical challenges exist.

Using TeleVU, the remote cardiologist (mentor) received a POV feed from the local community family physician’s smart glasses (mentee) to help with proper probe positioning.

At the same time, direct access to the POCUS screen provides quality images for the mentor to help with the diagnosis as necessary.
