Remote and rural areas often don’t have access to advanced care practitioners, and treating advanced wounds often requires transporting the patient to a regional wound care program.

In the existing workflow, the advanced care practitioner travels to the communities and sees those patients alongside the local clinician. This model delays care delivery due to batching patients and is costly to the patient and the health system.

Using TeleVU, regional wound care experts were able to connect with frontline nurses in remote communities to provide expert advice on wound care management, including dressing selection, dressing change procedures, timely referrals etc.
